Summer Registration and RUST

Summer Season

Summer season starts next week. Registration is open for Tuesdays and Wednesdays if you are looking to keep your teams going for the rest of the season or want to put in a new team. Head over to Zuluru to register before space fills up:

Two things for RUST. First off a team dropped out so there is an opening if you want to put your team in. Tournament runs August 12th and 13th. All info can be found here:

We are also looking for volunteers for RUST. So if you are unable to play but still want to come out and watch some ultimate while helping around the fields this is a great chance. You can either send a message to us on the GUPA facebook page or email us if you are interested. Enjoy the summer everyone.

Reason for the recent survey sent out

The executives are polling the membership about making an adjustment to our bylaws. We want to adjust the bylaw to be able have from 4 directors to a maximum of 15 directors. Over the last 6 years, we have grown our portfolios and league, requiring much of our volunteers to hold the burden of planning and enhancing those portfolios and services. That is not fair, or reasonable to expect the volunteer to hold all that burden without having a say in the extent of the execution of the league.
We have had some great volunteers, but as a volunteer limited responsibility should be assigned. We are not looking at maximizing the board to 15 immediately, but we are looking at future proofing the bylaws once (Instead of continuously performing unnecessary paperwork to amend the bylaws over the next 5-10 years.) We want to increase by 1 position to support the growth of the Junior program, and have that individual recognized.

Hat Tournament Cancelled

As there is high risk of thunder showers starting at 11am (Forecast we were hoping would change overnight), and there is current slight saturation at the field, but as the rain is currently slated to continue all day we have decided to cancel todays Hat tournament.

We regret to make this decision but our players safety is of the upmost importance.

We are looking to reschedule for the 24th of September, so please stay turned for more information.
